Last night we said goodbye to our excellent flight sgt Webster. He has aged out and will be gracing us as a civilian instruction. He has been a leading example of a cadet throughout his cadet Career not only excelling in everything he puts his mind to but encouraging other cadets to push themselves. He has represented not only the sqn but wing, region and the corps not only in sport but also in banner Drill. Well done on all your achievements @jameswebster99 it has been a pleasure to see you achieve and grow. #cwo #airtrainingcorps #rafac #royalairforceaircadets #whatwedo
Tonight we see the end of an era. We say goodbye to our cadet warrent officer who is aging out over the christmas break. From all of us at 1861 wantage sqn good luck in your future adventures and your transition to staff. Thank you for everything you have done and contributed over the years. You will not be forgotten! #cwo #airtrainingcorps #rafac #royalairforceaircadets #whatwedo
Well done Sgt Reed on passing your MOI assesmemt this evening. This now means that Sgt Reed has completed all of her lessons and is an Instructor Cadet, meaning she can teach the cadet syllabus to the cadets. Well done. #whatwedo #aircadets #1861 #airtrainingcorps #rafac #royalairforceaircadets
Tonight the cadets went to freedog! To let off some steam as we come to the end of the year.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam.
After a long weekend both sgt Stamp and Sgt Winship both completed their second Airborne march in Arnhem. Doing 15km and 10km. Here are a few photos from the trip. It involved 2 museum trips on the friday and a trip to the bridge. Then followed by a trip to the cemetory where over 1000 men are burried. Where they paid there respects by laying a wreath. On the saturday they then completed the march along with 32,809 other people from all over the world. If intrested the dates for next year will be 5th to the 8th september 2019.
